Rigaku MiniFlex Benchtop XRD
Rigaku are the world leaders in XRD. They pioneered the benchtop XRD system releasing the first in 1973. With thousands of MiniFlex’s sold, they are the most popular benchtop XRTD on the plant and are now responsible for over 43,000 publications and patents.
The AMI has a current, 6th generation system featuring powerful 600W X-ray source, 8-position sample changer and fast D/tex detector. This configuration is more than capable of producing research-grade/publication quality data and detecting trace phases and is ideal for minesite and testing labs with low to moderate throughput requirements, where a larger system can’t be justified and can be moved from location to location if required.
In conjunction with the SmalLab Studio II software which looks after instrument control, measurements and data analysis, this system is suited to identification of unknown materials, including geologicals as well as quantitative analysis.

Geological Samples for XRD Analysis
XRD is ideally suited to powders (particle size ~100µm), but whole (flat-faced) samples can be scanned if required (provided they can be mounted into the XRD).
