TIMA Automated Mineralogy – SEM-Based Mineralogical Analysis
TIMA combines BSE and EDX analysis to identify minerals and create mineral images that are analysed to determine mineral concentrations, element distributions, and mineral texture properties such as grain-size, association, liberation and locking parameters.
Key Benefits
- Identify and quantify to 0.01% concentration
- Mineral association of ore with gangue
- The minerals in which your element deports (major and minor minerals)
- Characterisation for solid solution substitutions in key minerals that may affect processing performance and quality
- Mineral size versus grain size for optimal grind size for liberation of these minerals
- Mineral inter-growths that may affect performance
- Full characterisation of quality of concentrates
